The films were shot by foreign filmmakers from France, the Netherlands, the US, Cuba and Italy between 1963 and 2003.
In addition, some Vietnamese films, which had never been screened on the Italian televisions before, were made public.
The event was based on an initiative of leading Italian film critic Giandomendico Curi, who had studied and collected films about the Vietnam War for a long time. He hoped to help Italian people learn more about Vietnam, a heroic nation in both wartime and peacetime.
