The closing ceremony was attended by Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung and Acting Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism Trinh Ngoc Chung.

The event attracted the participation of around 600 artisans, mass artists, and ethnic minority people from 17 provinces and cities in northern region.

Themed “Colors of traditional costumes of ethnic minorities in the north during the period of integration and development,” the festival aimed to bring about a new vitality of culture and enhance pride and respect for cultural values of traditional costumes of ethnic minority groups.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung evaluated that the first festival of traditional costumes of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam’s northern region successfully ended as planned, creating an atmosphere of solidarity among participating delegations and affirming the significance of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic communities. Performances during the event left deep impressions on the participants, people, and tourists to the village.

At the closing ceremony, artists from the Viet Bac Folk Music Theater entertained participants with unique performances imbued with cultural colors of ethnic minority groups in Northern localities.

At the event, the organizing panel awarded 20 A, 25 B and 20 C prizes to the participating groups with performances of ethnic costumes. The three groups with the highest achievements came from the provinces of Lao Cai, Quang Ninh and Hoa Binh.
