An exhibition entitled “The Desire for Freedom” opened at Hoa Lo Prison in Hanoi on May 14 to mark the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).

It touches upon the suffering of the Vietnamese people under French colonial rule and the suppression of captives and their determination to break free.
Visitors on the opening day were able to meet historical witnesses and family members of veterans who took part in escapes.
