The information was revealed by Nguyen Nhu Vu, Acting Director of the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio (DSF) at a press conference on June 7 in Hanoi.

The event, annually held by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) and the DSF, will gather 31 documentary films, including 10 from European countries, namely France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, the UK, and Israel and 21 of Vietnam.
Many of European films have won awards at international festivals in Europe such as Oscar, Cesar and Berlin. Vietnamese movies selected for the event are high-end works, produced by the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio and independent film makers, and have also gained many prestigious prizes.
The festival offers audiences an opportunity to gain insight into new cultures as well as exchange activities between Europe and Vietnam.
Under the schedule, Vietnamese and European films will be screened in the evening while one made by independent filmmakers will be shown in the afternoon.
Trainings and workshops on documentary film with Belgian Director Thierry Michal, whose films will be featured during the festival, will take place on June 12 and 13.
