A performance at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism

The festival, organized by the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, aims to showcase cultural spaces and activities of ethnic minority groups to celebrate the new year 2021.

The event will attract the participation of over 100 people from 16 ethnic groups (including the Nung, Tay, Dao, H'mong, Muong, Thai, Kho Mu) and 12 cities and provinces across the country, the Vietnam National Puppetry Theater, and more.

The highlight of the festival will be a space reenacting the upland market with the bold cultural traits of ethnic groups in Dien Bien, Lai Chau, and Bac Kan provinces and a wide range of activities, including traditional games, folk singing, and dancing.

In addition, the “Spring fair” exhibition will be held to introduce photos featuring the beauty of landscapes, ethnic minorities and photos of other cultural spaces organized at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.

Moreover, visitors coming to the festival will have a chance to enjoy art performances, particularly the Khen dance - a national intangible cultural heritage element of the H'mong people in Bac Kan province.

The event also contains numerous exciting activities like reproducing the “Khu Su Cha” Tet of the Ha Nhi people in Dien Bien province, the traditional “On-ro-po-rong” ritual of the Xo Dang people in Kon Tum province, and puppet performances by artists from the Vietnam National Puppetry Theater.
