Speaking at the launching ceremony, Acting Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Pham Chi Thanh briefed participants on the establishment and development of the publishing house over the past 75 years. He emphasized that over the last seven decades, the publishing house has played an important role in popularizing Marxism–Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s thought, the Party’s guidelines, and State’s policies and laws to readers, contributing to building a firm ideological foundation, raising cadres’ and people’s political stance, and combating wrongful viewpoints of the hostile forces.
At the exhibition, the National Political Publishing House showcased hundreds of books published by the publishing house since 1945. The event also introduced President Ho Chi Minh’s books, books about President Ho Chi Minh and former leaders of the Party and State, and award-winning books from different periods of time.
On the occasion, the organizers also held a seminar to introduce a series of books on ethnic groups of Vietnam. The series of books on "Ethnic groups in Vietnam" by chief author Assoc. Prof., Dr. Vuong Xuan Tinh comprises six volumes. These works are the results of the research conducted by the Institute of Anthropology from 2012-2015. They were edited and published by the National Political Publishing House from 2016-2018. The book series won the second prize at the second National Book Award in 2019.
The book series "Ethnic groups in Vietnam" marks an important scientific event of the anthropology sector of Vietnam and acts as a valuable information resource for leaders and managers to gain a deeper understanding of the characteristics of each ethnic group in Vietnam and formulate appropriate ethnic policies.
