Classical drama composer Dao Tan’s death anniversary marked
PANO – On September 19, the Vietnam Theatre Artists’ Association and the Vietnam Tuong (Classical Drama) Theatre in association with the Research Center for Preservation and Promotion of National Culture held a ceremony to mark the 110th death anniversary of celebrity Dao Tan (1907-2017) at the Hong Ha Theatre in Hanoi.

Dao Tan is a well-known dramatist of Tuong (classical drama). He was born in 1845 in Binh Dinh, an area rich in revolutionary traditions, culture, and national martial arts. His talents were uncovered in early age with many famous poems and classical dramas.
Some of his popular works are Khue cac anh hung, Ho sanh dan, Dien vo dinh, Quan cong hoi co thanh, Tram Huong Cac, and Hoang Phi Ho pha gioi bai quan.
Speaking at the anniversary, Deputy-Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien asked theatres and establishments of classical drama performance to further efforts in preserving and tracking down further masterpieces of the late dramatist in the time to come.
