Ceramic objects of Oc Eo culture on display
PANO – Around 1,000 ceramic objects from the Oc Eo culture are on display at a month-long exhibition in An Giang province.
These exhibits, including statues, ceramic vases and cups, were collected from 17 cities and provinces across Vietnam’s Southern provinces, such as Can Tho, An Giang, Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Lam Dong, Bac Lieu, etc. and objects from the collection at the Ho Chi Minh City History Museum. These items were produced between the first and seventh centuries and used as household utensils, production tools, decoration and architecture and in religious practices.
The first event is to popularize the special values of Oc Eo culture to both domestic and international viewers.
Formed and developed in the Southern region, the Oc Eo culture is among three influential cultures in Vietnam, together with Dong Son and Sa Huynh cultures.
