During these days as the traditional Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) is approaching, calligraphers have brought their brushes and inks to write special words to offer visitors with special Tet gifts.
Many calligraphers have flocked to pavement around the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university) to display their works and present words.
Despite freezing weather, along more than 200m of Van Mieu street, calligraphers are very keen on performing the special art of writing and drawing.
Calligraphic works are written on various materials such as paper, silk, stone, bamboo, wood and ceramics. They are all depicting the spirit of a cozy atmosphere in new spring.
