PANO - The 3rd volume of the memoirs, “Firm and Undaunted”, published by the Hanoi Publishing House, was released on March 4th in Hanoi.
The 442-page book, with 65 stories of those who devoted their lives for national independence and reunification, praises the comradeship and undaunted spirit of Vietnamese prisoners of war in Hoa Lo, Son La, Phu Quoc, Bien Hoa, Thua Phu, Son Tay and Ha Dong prisons during the fight against the enemy’s atrocity.
Earlier, the memoirs’ first volume about the pre-August Revolution and anti-French resistance war periods, and the second volume focusing on the anti-American resistance war, were made public in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
The book also introduces poems showing the confidence, nostalgia, and POWs’ wishes, and denouncing the enemy’s atrocity. Besides, 16 pages of photos vividly reflect central and local leaders’ care for prisoners, traditional meetings, visits to relics, activities to promote combat traditions, as well as changes in Con Dao and Phu Quoc.
The newly-released volume with historical events and witnesses is highly appreciated for its educational contents and truthfulness.
