Award-winning violinist performs in Hanoi
A classical concert with violinist Stephane Tran Ngoc and pianist Tran Thai Linh took place at French Cultural Center (L’Espace) on September 1.
The musicians played four pieces by French composers Claude Debussy; Maurice Ravel; Cesar Franck and Camille Saint-Saens.
"This year is the 100th anniversary of Debussy’s death and it felt vital to play one of his wonderful works with his violin sonata, which he wrote just a year before his death," said violinist Tran Ngoc.

"We like to assimilate Franck as a French composer although he was actually Belgian. His sonata for violin and piano is one of the most famous sonatas and rightly deserved."
Violinist Tran Ngoc has performed in more than 30 countries as soloist with some of Europe’s finest orchestras including the Radio - France Philharmonic, the Monte - Carlo Philharmonic and Japanese Shinsei Symphony Orchestra. He won Grand Prix and Special Audience Prize at the Long-Thibaud 1990 International Competition.
