PANO – A closing ceremony of the National School Games took place on August 10 in Nghe An province, in the presence of National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu.

The fortnight competition, held in the two provinces of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, drew the participation of nearly 4,000 students from the 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The contestants competed in 15 events, including volleyball, chess, football, athletics, Karatedo, and Taekwondo.

61 among 63 delegations won medals. The Ho Chi Minh City delegation topped the ranking list, and was followed by Hanoi and Thanh Hoa.

Speaking at the ceremony, Luu stressed that physical education at schools is very important in human physical development, helping students improve their physical and mental strengths, follow healthy lifestyles, promote their self-confidence, solidarity and efforts to overcome difficulties. The Games contributed to discovering and cultivating physical aptitudes of students in the country.
