Accordingly, the festival features 27 plays which were staged since 2014 with duration from 90 to 120 minutes. The festival focuses on main topics such as movement of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle; and the Party’s resolutions so as to meet demands for national sustainable development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy-Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that the festival aims to create a playground for artists to exchange and learn experiences from one another, improve quality art performances and meet the public's constant demand for enjoying art performances.
This was also an opportunity for management agencies to detect constraints and obstacles in order to provide reasonable orientations for the development of modern Vietnamese theatres in the coming time.
Kieu (based on Truyen Kieu (Tale Kieu) by poet Nguyen Du) was the curtain-raising performance for this year’s festival.
The festival will run till April 25.
