PANO - The 5th International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts – Binh Dinh 2014 was officially kicked off in the Central province of Binh Dinh on August 1st, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Under the theme “Preserving and Upholding Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts”, the four-day event draws the participation of 60 international martial arts groups from 24 nations and territories worldwide, and 63 Vietnamese ones.
There are various activities at the festival, including the 5th national traditional martial arts tournament, a street carnival, and a local cuisine festival.
At the opening ceremony, Minister of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh handed over the certificate recognizing the Binh Dinh traditional martial arts as a national intangible cultural heritage.
