The written contest at central level received 2,200 entries selected from nearly 3 million local entries. The organizing panel presented awards to 23 groups with the first prizes going to Ninh Binh province, and gave 32 individual awards with the first prize for Pham Thi Hong Duyen, a teacher of Nguyen Du Junior High School in Soc Son district, Hanoi.

The contest is part of activities to celebrate Vietnam-Laos Solidarity, Friendship Year, the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

The contest aims to affirm the solidarity of the two peoples in the struggle for national liberation and construction and reject the distorted allegations undermining the special friendship and solidarity of the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
