While visiting Laos, Vietnamese journalists offer money to victims of dam collapse
PANO - A delegation of Vietnamese journalists, led by Nguyen Thai Thien, Vice Chairman of the Authority of Press under the Ministry of Information and Communications, visited the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and some press agencies of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
The Vietnamese delegation, visiting Laos during September 8-12, included officials of the Ministry of Information and Communications and reporters of press agencies, including People's Army Newspaper, Nghe An Newspaper, Quang Binh Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Public Security News.
At the meetings, Vietnamese and Lao journalists exchanged experience in the management of press activities as well as the experience in building and fostering teams of collaborators for the newspaper.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese delegation also presented one million Lao Kip to victims of the XepianXe-Namnoy hydropower dam collapse in Sanamxay district of Attapeu province of Laos.
Pin Patthana Phanthamaly, Director of the Press Department under the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, thanked the Vietnamese delegation for the meaningful gift to the Lao victims, and promised to pass the money to them soon.
