Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian youths’ cooperation promoted
PANO – The Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Youth Cooperation Conference 2017 was held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee in Ho Chi Minh City on September 8.
Present at the event were Le Quoc Phong, the first Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee and head of the Vietnamese youth delegation, Sonethanou Thammavong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) and head of the Lao youth delegation and Hun Many, President of the Cambodian Youth Federation and head of the Cambodian delegation, together with outstanding youths of the three countries.
The conference strengthened solidarity and friendship among the two country’s youth, thus promoting the comprehensive cooperation among the three countries. It was part of major activities marking the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties.
At the conference, delegates discussed approaches to improve education for the youth on the history of traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation of the three countries, solutions to promote commercial ties among their young enterprises and ways to improve the efficiency of the three youth organizations’ collaboration during voluntary and social affairs programs.
The three countries’ youth delegates also laid wreaths at the President Ho Chi Minh’s Statue, paid a courtesy visit to the city’s leadership and toured local historical sites as well as other places of cultural significance.
