Vietnam to host Vietnam-Laos youth friendship meeting
The Vietnam-Laos Youth Friendship Meeting 2017 will be held from September 5-9 in Vietnam as part of a cooperation agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union.
At the opening ceremony of the meeting in 2016
The Lao delegation will be led by Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union Central Committee Sonthanu Thamavong.
The event aims to educate the youth of Vietnam and Laos on the special solidarity between the two countries, as well as the significance of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties and the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
This is a chance for Vietnamese and Lao youngsters to review the tradition of special fighting alliance between the two countries, while fostering the mutual understanding between the two youth unions.
The meeting will be organized in Hanoi and the Central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh with various activities, including a signing ceremony of an agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union for the 2017-2022 period, and talks between leaders of the two unions.
Participants will also join a painting event on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, and visit a number of historical and cultural relic sites in Vietnam.
