Vietnam assists Lao people with disabilities
The Da Nang Orthopedics & Rehabilitation Hospital handed over materials to make prosthetic arms and legs to orthopedics center 686 in Keun village of Vientiane province, central Laos, on January 12.
The materials are worth VND 2.2billion (USD 96,800).
This is the fifth time since December 2015 the hospital has provided materials for the Lao center, as part of a State-funded project worth over VND 48 billion (USD 2.1 million).
The project aims to boost capacity for the center, which supplies prostheses for invalids and people with disabilities in Laos.
In the coming time, the Da Nang hospital will continue helping the Lao facility train human resources, particularly prosthetic technician.
The Keun village orthopedics center was put into operation in December 2015.
