On behalf of the unit, Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Hai expressed his delight at welcoming the Lao delegation, hoping that they would have a successful visit in Vietnam. He also briefed delegates on the PAN’s 70 years of construction and development.

As an organ of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense (MND), the voice of the armed forces and people, the PAN is one of the top prestigious political press agencies in the revolutionary press, disseminating both strategic tasks of the country: Building and safeguarding the fatherland.

The newspaper has also made remarkable contribution to the cause of national liberation, protection and construction.

In response to the strong development trend of modern media, he said, PAN’s relevant agencies have actively run their work as the model of a multimedia press agency. The newspaper now has various publications such as the printed daily, the weekly newspaper “The Weekend” and the monthly magazine “Events and Witnesses.” Meanwhile, the online newspaper features Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Lao and Khmer editions, and daily audio and weekly video news.

In 2023 and the following years, the PAN will open more representative offices in other provinces in the country, and hope to send reporters to its representative offices in some important countries, as regulated by the government, CMC and MND.

For his part, Mr. Bounleuamh Souvankham thanked the PAN for its warm reception as well as creating favorable conditions for them to share more experience. He also affirmed that this visit would contribute to enhancing solidarity and experience sharing between the two sides’ press agencies in the coming years.

In the time to come, he urged the PAN and Lao press agencies to continue to boost cooperation in training reporters, sharing experience so as to effectively implement dissemination work, contributing to cultivating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
