In the locality, delegates and Lao and Cambodian students offered incense in tribute to fallen troops at Sac Forest Heroic Martyrs’ Temple. The students later tried catching clams, making drinks from coconut nectar and had a visit to farmer Ut Ngoc’s longan orchard in Can Thanh townlet.

They also got opportunities to learn about Can Gio biosphere reserve, had an exchange themed “Lao and Cambodian students and Vietnamese sea and islands” with officers and soldiers of Flotilla 2 under the Ho Chi Minh municipal Border Guard Command.

Huynh Thi Kim Xuyen, Permanent Vice President of the municipal Farmers’ Association, hoped that the program would provide  nice experiences in the natural beauty of the mangrove forest, the national sea and islands, and the friendliness of the people in Can Gio in particular and in Ho Chi Minh City in general for participants, especially Lao and Cambodian students.

Thimahaxay Rougvilay, a fourth-year student at Van Lang University, was overjoyed to take part in the event to learn more about the culture, traditional costumes and food of Vietnam. The student said that through activities of the program, they could feel the due attention of the municipal Farmers’ Association’s affiliates to helping connect Lao and Cambodian students in the city. Via this program, they understood and loved Vietnam more and respected the friendship, close-knit solidarity, and pure loyalty among peoples of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

On the occasion, the organizer granted 10 scholarships, worth VND 1 million each, to children of officers and soldiers of Flotilla 2.
