ASEAN holds online high-level dialogue on post-COVID-19 recovery
PANO - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung, head of Vietnam’s SOM ASEAN, attended an online high-level dialogue on ASEAN’s post-COVID-19 recovery on July 30.
Held by the ASEAN Secretariat, the dialogue aimed to collect opinions on the building of the bloc’s master plan on the pandemic response and post-pandemic recovery, as requested by ASEAN leaders at the 36th ASEAN Summit in June.

Mr. Dung, who is also the Chairman of the ASEAN Coordinating Council Working Group on Public Health Emergencies (ACCWG-PHE), suggested economic recovery should be done in steps with clear focuses, ensuring the dual goals of containing the pandemic and rapidly recovering economic activities.
As ACCWG-PHE Chairman, Mr. Dung called for input from the private sector, international organizations, and ASEAN partners in building the plan, including the draft plan framework.
The master plan, which will be constantly updated, is scheduled to be submitted at the 37th ASEAN Summit in November.
