Laos re-opens schools, extends some other restrictions
The Government of Laos on November 14 announced the re-opening of schools across the country while some other COVID-19 restriction measures continue to be extended nationwide for additional 15 days starting from 0:00 on November 15.
The Lao government said that the country must extend the measures because of the increasing number of community infections, especially in densely populated areas, social events, offices, organizations and households.

Accordingly, Laos continues to close border gates, except for those permitted to open by the Lao National Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, stop issuing visas for tourists and relatives. Diplomatic staff, those from international organizations, experts and investors with urgent entry needs will be allowed to enter but must comply with all COVID-19 prevention measures.
The organization of events and conferences with more than 50 people is prohibited, including festivals and religious activities.
Domestic and international transport of goods is still allowed but drivers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
