At a banquet on November 4, MoWECP Minister Yohana Susana Yembise affirmed the role of the ministry in strengthening the participation of women in politics and development as well as the protection of children and women who are vulnerable groups in society.
Indonesia has defined four focuses which are gender equality and women empowerment, enhancing policy in protecting women and children from violence, boosting the implementation of children’s rights and improving management capability.
The MoWECP also set the so-called “Three ends” which are end to violence to women and children, end to human trafficking networks and end to inequality in income.
The Aceh government always cooperates actively with local communities to enhance the position of women and children. In Aceh, women and children are protected by the Law on Women Empowerment and Children Protection.
