The first meeting of the committee was held online on December 15.
ALICOM aims to enhance regional cooperation to improve labor inspection efficiency in hard-to-reach sectors, and strengthen referral systems.
The committee will also facilitate knowledge sharing on strategies and innovations to support labor law compliance.
Chaired by Brunei, the first meeting of ALICOM took place on the sidelines of the 10th ASEAN Labor Inspection Conference on December 14-15. It deliberated on the potential priorities of cooperation towards harmonious, safe and progressive workplaces in the region.
The event offered an opportunity for delegates to discuss competencies of labor inspectors for better preparedness and response to future challenges.
The second meeting of this kind will be chaired and hosted by Cambodia in 2022.
