PANO – “Vietnam asserts its indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos in the East Sea (South China Sea). All activities of foreign parties in this area without the permission of Vietnam are illegal”, stated the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Hai Binh.

On July 28th, answering questions of the press about the recent visits by a number of Taiwanese officials to the Ba Binh (Itu Aba) feature area in the Truong Sa archipelago of Vietnam, Spokesperson Le Hai Binh stated that these visits have seriously violated Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Truong Sa Islands.
He stressed, “Vietnam resolutely protests the visits and demands Taiwan not to stop such erroneous acts to contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea.”
