Artistic program on DPRK-Vietnam friendship to be held in Hanoi
PANO –The Vietnam National Music and Dance Theatre will organize a special artistic program on February 28 to feature the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)-Vietnam friendship over the past 69 years, especially since President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to DPRK in July 1957.
As instructed by Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, the program is held for DPRK Chairman Kim Jong Un who is paying an official visit to Vietnam and attending the DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit.
Under the theme “Spring Sunshine”, the three-part program includes songs praising Vietnamese and DPRK leaders and performances of Vietnamese folk music, including Love duet, Nha nhac cung dinh Hue (Hue royal court music), and Gong Culture of Central Highland ethnic minority people, which were honored as intangible cultural heritages by UNESCO.

Songs in the program will be performed by renowned Vietnamese singers, including People’s Artists Quang Tho and Thai Bao and Meritorious Artist Hoang Xuan Binh who won high prizes at the International April Spring Friendship Festival held in Pyongyang.
Spring is a symbol of peace and happiness, while sunshine symbolizes hope for a bright future of peace, said Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theatre Meritorious Artist Hoang Xuan Binh.
Binh showed the honor to organize artistic programs to mark important diplomatic events of the country, including the Vietnam visit of DPRK Chairman Kim Jong Un and the DPRK-USA Summit in Vietnam.
He said that this is an international-level event and serves as an opportunity for Vietnam to popularize the images of a beautiful and hospitable country to international friends.
At present, artists of the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theatre are urgently practicing to ensure the event a success.
