Meanwhile, Vietravel said that until May 31, the firm’s customers will receive discount worth VND 300,000 (USD 12.77) each for groups of 4-6 tourists, VND 500,000 each for groups of 7-9 and VND 700,000 for groups of from 10 tourists for domestic tours.
The highest discount for each travelers registering outbound tours is VND 1.5 million (USD 63.84).
According to local travel firms, this year, outbound tours to Thailand, Singapore, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Dubai and Maldives also attract a large number of tourists.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that during the city’s Tourism Festival in early April, participants reported total revenue of VND 105 billion, bringing high hope for the city to reach a peak number of tourists in this summer.
In the first quarter of this year, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 7.5 million domestic visitors and 1.04 million foreign tourists, earning over VND 36.11 trillion (USD 1.54 billion), a surge of 77.2% year-on-year.
