Nearly three weeks before the start of the Lunar New Year festival (Tet), many popular holiday tours have been booked solid. In particular, the number of visitors to foreign countries, like Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, has risen strongly.

This year, Saigontourist Travel Service Company has had more than 10,000 tourists buying domestic and foreign tours during the Tet holiday, 30 percent more than last year. In particular, the number of travellers using high-ranking services, Premium Travel, has increased by 42 percent.

Representatives of many travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, including Ben Thanh Tourism, Hoa Binh Tourism and Phuong Nam, said the number of registered guests for tours during the coming Tet holiday has risen 20 percent against last year.

With the establishment of more than 100 special domestic and foreign tours, Vietravel Tourism Company has planned to welcome the arrival of 12,000 tourists, up 20 percent compared to the previous year.
