On September 2, a celebratory art performance will take place on Hung Vuong Street in Luong Van Tri ward. Following the show, Lang Son will stage a 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display synchronized with music and lights.

From August to September, the province also hosts an exhibition, titled “August Revolution 1945 – A Great Turning Point in Vietnam’s 20th Century” at the Provincial Museum (August 15 - September 15); screens documentaries at Dong Kinh Cinema (August 12 – September 12); holds a book exhibition on the August Revolution and National Day at the Provincial Library (August 10 – September 15) and a poster exhibition marking the 80th National Day (August 6 – September 10).

Bao Son Paradise Park hosts independence festival

Bao Son Paradise Park in Hanoi will hold the “Independence Festival,” a cultural-entertainment program rich in national identity. Running from August 30 to September 2, the festival is an ideal destination for families and visitors coming to Hanoi during this important holiday.

The entire park will be decorated with thousands of national flags, along with specially designed check-in spaces inspired by the spirit of “Independence – Freedom – Happiness,” offering both solemnity and warmth for visitors to capture memorable moments. More than a recreational venue, Bao Son Paradise Park will serve as a cultural space that inspires patriotism across generations.

The highlight of the festival is a series of elaborate performances blending tradition and modernity, including silk dragon dances, magic fan acts, and contemporary folk dance. At the Fly Over Vietnam cinema, visitors will experience a multi-dimensional cinematic journey: reliving the nation’s heroic history through the film “Vietnam’s Epic History,” exploring the cultural richness of 54 ethnic groups via the 3D mapping show “The Colors of Vietnam,” and, most impressively, taking in a panoramic bird’s-eye view of the country through a unique simulated flying technology.

Golden rice season meets holiday spirit

This year’s golden rice season in Sa Pa coincides with the four-day National Day holiday, making it the perfect occasion for extended journeys into the highlands of Northwestern Vietnam.

Golden rice fields and fluttering red flags blend with the lush green mountains of Sa Pa.

Among the most spectacular viewpoints is the Muong Hoa Valley, often described as a “gigantic embroidered painting” by the H’mong people, where terraced fields curve gracefully around the mountainsides. Ta Van and Ta Phin villages exude tranquil charm, with rice fields interspersed among wooden houses and evening cooking smoke. Meanwhile, Lao Chai and Y Linh Ho villages offer expansive views where golden rice stretches to the horizon.

Visitors seeking a closer connection with nature may opt to stay in homestays nestled amid the fields, where the fragrance of ripened rice drifts in through open windows. Sa Pa also boasts cafés situated right next to terraced fields, allowing guests to sip aromatic coffee in the morning mist while overlooking the harvest. Such privileges are unique to this land.

One of the most extraordinary vantage points is from the Sun World Fansipan Legend cable car en route to the “Roof of Indochina” - Fansipan. From above, terraced fields resemble golden waves cascading down the mountains, weaving graceful curves into the endless green canvas.

Golden season in Sa Pa typically begins in late August and lasts through September, when the entire landscape glows under the sun, as shimmering terraced fields embrace the northwest mountains like ribbons of silk. For visitors, it is a magnificent natural painting where earth, sky, and people harmonize in celebration.
