At the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dac Tai said that the four festive days, featuring a string of cultural, artistic and sport activities, helped nudge the local strengths in economy, culture and tourism closer to domestic and international friends.
Local cultural and traditional characteristics were highlighted through the whale-worshiping festival, street festival, cuisine festival, Salangane nest festival, folk games, and a traditional human chess tournament.

Besides, other activities like international scientific conference on sustainable development for Vietnamese Salangane nests, and releasing of young sea animals in Nha Trang Bay were organized to raise public awareness of sea and island environment protection.
On the occasion, the Vietnam Records Organization presented certificates for the 10 Vietnam Records in the locality, including those for the province with the most beautiful bays in Vietnam and the largest stamp collection on marine creatures.
The sea festival has been held biennially since 2003. According to the provincial Department of Tourism, more than 143,000 visitors flocked to Khanh Hoa during the festival this year, which was organized as part of the Visit Vietnam Year 2019 themed “Nha Trang – Color of the Sea.”
Boasting 180 kilometers of coastline, stunning natural landscapes with Van Phong, Nha Trang and Cam Ranh bays listed as the world’s most beautiful bays, together with many exciting festivals such as Ponagar Temple festival, whale worshiping festival, and Salanganes Festival, Khanh Hoa province is a popular tourism destination in the central region.
