Addressing the event, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung held that welcoming over 6.8 million tourists last year, the city planned to receive from 7.5 to 8 million guests, including around 1.1 to 1.3 million foreigners, year-on-year towards 2020. To get this done, it’s the city’s leadership that decided to upgrade tourist infrastructure including the construction of a five-star hotel, he added.

At the groundbreaking ceremony 

The new 32-floor building is expected to become a high-level holiday destination to draw more guests to the city and to provide jobs for the locals. The new project is also expected to contribute to developing the local socio-economy.

The 120-meter high construction covers a total floor area of 50,000 sq.m, with 320 rooms and a meeting hall for 1,200 to 1,500 people.

The investment was made by Nhat Ha Ltd. Co., totaling VND 1,600 billion, and, once completed in 2021, the hotel will be operated by AccorHotels Group, one of the world’s leading hotel management and operation corporations.
