The information regarding the suspected cases was released during a meeting held by the Steering Committee for prevention and control of COVID-19 in Hanoi on the morning of March 7, which was presided over by Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung.
According to some of the updates to come out of the meeting, flight number VN0054 which brought the latest COVID-19 patient into the nation had a total of 197 passengers and crew members onboard at the time.

The 26-year old female patient is a resident of 125 Truc Bach street in Ba Dinh district in Hanoi and came into close contact with eight people, including her father, aunt, five helpers, and a driver.
At Hong Ngoc Hospital where the patient underwent a health checkup, there were a further 18 people who came into close contact with the patient. Currently, each of these people are in a normal health condition and have yet to display any symptoms such as a fever or a cough.
The Hanoi Department of Health began working to compile a list of 33 people who came into close contact with the patient at 20:30 on March 6, along with creating another list made up of 90 people who came into close contact with the 33 individuals.
Overall, 27 out of 33 samples have been taken from people who came into close contact with the patient, with a total of 25 cases coming back negative for the COVID-19.
Despite this, the suspected cases of the driver and the patient’s aunt have yet to receive their test results. Samples from the other six people are also being taken.
Following initial reports of the latest case, the Hanoi Department of Health moved to co-ordinate efforts with Noi Bai International Airport to collect information on the 217 passengers and crew members who were travelling on flight VN0054 with the patient.
The Hanoi Department of Health stated that the capital is likely to record fresh cases of the COVID-19 infection over the course of the coming days due to the patient coming into close contact with her relatives who then went onto travel widely.
The Steering Committee for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control convened an urgent meeting on March 6 to get to grips with the latest COVID-19 infection case involving an individual who travelled to Europe.
She began to display symptoms of coughing, a fever, and fatigue when returning home on March 3.
She was taken to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh district where her initial results came back positive for the COVID-19.
In order to deal with the situation, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control has directed the response teams to come up with a list of people who came into close contact with the latest patient.
