Winners of press awards on poverty reduction efforts honored
PANO - The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), in association with the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Journalists' Association, on October 12, held a ceremony to honor winners of the second press awards on sustainable poverty reduction efforts in the 2016-2020 period.
The event was attended by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Head of the Central Steering Committee on National Target Programs in 2016-2020; and member of the Party Central Committee Tran Thanh Man, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.
During the event, 38 prizes, including two A, nine B, thirteen C, fourteen consolations and one collective prize were presented to press and media products in many categories of print newspaper reports, media pieces, online newspaper articles, radio broadcasts, television programs, and photos.
The works reflected socio-economic development of localities nationwide in line with practical implementation for poverty reduction and activities of building new rural areas at the grassroots level. The winners also reflected notably the policy making process and the implementation of the Prime Minister's Decision on the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction for 2016-2020.
At the awarding ceremony, the Central Steering Committee on National Target Programs in 2016-2020 launched a texting program entitled "Whole nation join hands for the poor" in response to the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and the Day for the Poor in Vietnam (October 17).
