During the conference, Deputy PM Dung directed all relevant state organs and agencies to promptly deal with the storm effects and gear up for other possible natural disasters. The National Committee for Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue should cooperate with localities and armed forces to implement search and rescue work. In addition, they should visit, encourage and support disasters’ victims to help them stabilize their life.

Troops actively collect rubbish in flood-hit localities. 

* Under the instruction of the Ministry of National Defense, military units mobilized their troops to help locals overcome storm Damrey's effects in South Central coastal region. Accordingly, the Border Guard sent 131 troops and three boats for search and rescue missions at sea. The Vietnam People’s Navy also deployed 552 troops with 33 vehicles to Nai Hien Dong ward, in Son Tra district, Da Nang city to conduct an environmental clean-up for the APEC Year 2017. In addition, 305 soldiers from the Air Defense Air Force Service were mobilized to Da Nang and Nha Trang cities to support flood victims in these localities.

* On November 9, the Naval Academy’s troops also assisted the primary school and kindergarten in Dien Lac commune, Dien Khanh district (Khanh Hoa province) in overcoming the consequences of storm Damrey.

For two days, the unit’s troops help them repair houses and clean up the local environment.

* On November 9, a mission of the Ministry of Health led by its Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien worked with Khanh Hoa province on the storm consequences and disease prevention and control. During the meeting, the mission inspected two medical infirmaries in Ninh Ha ward and Ninh Phu commune (Van Ninh district). Accordingly, the ministry presented two generators and VND 100 million to Khanh Hoa province.

* On the same day, Vice Secretary of the Khanh Hoa provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee Le Duc Vinh chaired a meeting with relevant agencies to discuss policies for needy households and storm victims.

Accordingly, the provincial People’s Committee decided to donate VND 40 million to each household.
