VJA aims to promote its position regionally and globally
PANO - The Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) continues renewing contents and forms of its operation and boosting external activities, so as to promote its status in the international arena, especially in the ASEAN Community.
The goal and action plan were adopted by delegates at the VJA’s national conference on April 22 in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province.
The association also underlined the need to build up a contingent of good revolutionary journalists to meet the requirements of the current context and to well perform their social responsibilities and civil duties.
According to a report delivered at the conference by Ho Quang Loi, VJA’s Permanent Deputy President, the VJA well performed its tasks in 2016, especially in organizing training courses to raise professional ethics and professionalism and press contests.
The conference also discussed experiences on improving the quality of the National Press Awards, writing articles on foiling “peaceful evolution” schemes, preventing “self-transformation” and “self-evolution” and diversifying professional activities.
It also reviewed the VJA’s emulation movement. Accordingly, two members were rewarded with the Labor Order by the State President; 12 groups were awarded with outstanding emulation flags and 157 members were presented with merit certificates by VJA’s President.
The same day, the VJA launched its electronic portal at www.hoinhabaovietnam.vn with two versions of Vietnamese and English. It will provide readers with information related to the association’s activities and its orientations for the press and media nationwide.
