Earlier, a Panamanian cargo ship called Ever Cast was carrying containers from Thailand to China. While operating at sea about 70 miles southeast of Nha Trang, a Vietnamese crew-member on board, named P.D.T. born in 1994, suffered from mental illness. He had abnormal expressions and lost control of his behavior.

Knowing the situation, the captain of the ship isolated him in a separate area and sent a mayday signal for help.

Upon receiving the information, the Vietnam MRCC IV mobilized Ship CN-02TSA to the scene for rescue missions. After taking the troubled crew-member ashore safely, medical staff from the Vietnam MRCC IV coordinated with the International Health Quarantine Center and the Khanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command to provide the patient with the first aid and promptly took him to the Vinmec Nha Trang hospital for further treatment.
