Vi Xuyen: Hanoi young artists pay tribute to national contributors
PANO – The Hanoi Association of Young Artists recently held a program in tribute to national contributors in Vi Xuyen district of Ha Giang province. The program included an artistic gala night held on July 15 evening at the War Cemetery of Vi Xuyen district where more than 1,700 martyrs sacrificing themselves for safeguarding the Northern border of the nation from 1979 to 1989 rest in peace.
Prior to the artistic performances, the artists lit candles and offered incense to martyrs at the Vi Xuyen district War Cemetery. During the gala night, the artists handed over a gratitude house, worth VND 70 million, to mother of martyr Vi Thi Chuc in Na Co hamlet, Kim Thach commune of the district. More than 100 gifts, worth VND 200 million in total, were also presented to sick and wounded soldiers, policy beneficiaries and children of martyrs living in Vi Xuyen district.
Addressing the event, Artist Dong Long, President of the Hanoi Association of Young Artists, shared that visiting Vi Xuyen those days, the association’s artists wished to pay their tribute to and respect from deep down in their hearts for those sacrificing their lives, youth or parts of their bodies for national independence and peace at present.
The meaningful activities and glorious melodies resounding in the mountainous land full of wind and incense showed the sentiment and responsibility of the Capital’s youth in general and young artists in particular to all heroes, martyrs, sick and wounded soldiers, policy beneficiaries, Vietnamese heroic mothers on the occasion of the 70th Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers (July 27, 1947 – 2017). The Hanoi Association of Young Artists’ deeds have contributed to promoting the noble tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” of the Vietnamese people.
