* On July 15, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue led a delegation to offer incense to martyrs at the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and pay deep tribute to martyrs who had scarified their lives for the cause of national construction and defense.

* The same day, Party Central Committee member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man also visited and presented gifts to a 95-year old heroic mother Tran Thi Be in Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district and 59-year old wounded soldier Truong Cong Mui in Khue My ward, Ngu Hanh Son district. Mr. Man hoped that they would continue promoting the heroic traditions of the elders to set bright examples for younger generations.

* The Vietnam Labor Confederation, in cooperation with Khanh Hoa province, held a ceremony to mark the 70th War Invalids and Martyrs' Day and inaugurated Gac Ma soldiers' memorial site. The site was built to pay tribute to 64 fallen soldiers who had died during a battle to defend Gac Ma Island in Vietnam's Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago. On this occasion, the Vietnam Labor Confederation funded VND 20 billion to build memorial sites on Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai province).

* A delegation of the General Department of Logistics, led by its Deputy Director Major General Vu Ba Trung, has inquired after and presented gifts, worth of VND 10 million each, to national contributors in Military Hospitals 105 and 354 (under the general department).

* In addition, the Vietnam Military Medical University’s delegation, on July 14, provided free health checkups and medicines, and presented gifts to 1,200 national contributors and needy households in Vinh Linh districts. During the visit, the delegation presented a television set (worth VND 10 million) to a kindergarten in Vinh Khe commune (Vinh Linh district), 21 gifts (worth VND 500,000 each) and handed over three gratitude houses and a great unity house to national contributors and needy households in the locality. Earlier in the day, the delegation also offered incense and paid tribute to martyrs at the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery, the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and the General Vo Nguyen Giap's tomb.

* Military Hospital 5 of the Department of Logistics under the Military Region 3 also provided free health checkups and medicines to 250 national contributors and needy households.

* On July 14, the Army Corps 4 cooperated with Thong Nhat Hospital to visit and present gifts to revolutionary contributors in Tien Giang province. Accordingly, the delegation provided free health checkups and medicines to over 600 people and presented 200 gifts at a total cost of VND 120 million.
