The text message campaign in 2022 was organized by VAVA and the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam.

Taking place from July 20 to September 17, the program received active support and participation of forces, agencies, organizations, localities, service providers, and mobile subscribers.

Since its launch, the program received a total donation of more than VND 3.13 billion through messages. The money raised in the campaign was used to finance the upgrading and construction of houses for poor families and present gifts to AO/dioxin victims in difficult circumstances and nursing homes for the victims on the special occasions.

Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh and delegates agreed that the results of the campaign came from the close coordination of agencies, units, and organizations inside and outside the military.

VAVA’s President also highlighted the role of dissemination work in the success of the program. Apart from popularizing the campaign on newspapers, radio, and television, dissemination work was actively carried out by organizations. Various missions were formed to spread the significance and purpose of the program and guided elderly people to text.

General Rinh said that this was an effective method that should be applied to raising the efficiency of the text message program in 2023 and the years to come.

At the event, the Central Committee presented certificates of merit to 41 outstanding groups and individuals with active contributions to the text message campaign in 2022.
