MIC Deputy-Minister Nguyen Minh Hong held that the stamp release aims to honor the 1968 General Offensive and Uprising, popularly known as the Tet Offensive, which significantly altered the course of the war in Vietnam. The offensive is seen as a shining symbol of the patriotism and iron will of the Vietnamese people.
With the dagger, the artist shows the image of the army alongside the people attacking the enemy with an immortal spirit. Above is the image of a dove, the universal symbol of peace expressing the aspiration for independence, freedom and peace for the motherland, the absolute belief in the leadership of the Party, the strength of the great national unity bloc and the spirit of international unity.
The collection, on paper sized 31x46mm, was designed by painter Tran The Vinh.
