These fruitful outcomes were highlighted at a conference held by the Hanoi Union of Foreign Organizations (HAUFO) in Hanoi on January 16 to review the people-to-people exchanges last year and launch an emulation movement this year.
Last year, the union and its affiliates proactively, flexibly, and creatively organized such exchanges and accomplished their set targets.
Addressing the conference, Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son asked the union to continue bringing into full play its previous achievements. It should also actively cooperate with ministries, departments and groups in the city to promote the popularization of a renovated city with socio-economic-cultural development and numerous national and international historical relic sites.
The union was also requested to ensure good organization of its and its affiliates’ congresses and boost people-to-people exchanges to friendly link Hanoi’s citizens with international friends, contributing to the enhancement of Vietnam’s and Hanoi’s status among international friends.
