Youths cycling to raise people's awareness of blood donation |
* On June 19, at the Dak Nong provincial Conventional Center, the campaign organizing panel and the provincial Steering Committee of Voluntary Blood Donation kicked off the Red Journey Campaign 2019 and honored voluntary blood donors in the province in the 2016-2019 period.
Addressing the event, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh affirmed that the provincial Steering Committee of Voluntary Blood Donation well coordinated with agencies and organizations at all levels to annually conduct the campaign, as well as praised big voluntary donors. She also encouraged local people to actively join such a humanitarian program.
The organizing panel targets to attract at least 3,000 voluntary blood donors and collect over 2,540 blood units for the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
* The same day, Lam Dong province hosted a blood donation day. Over the past seven years, the annual program has changed local people’s attitude towards blood donation.
As a result, with their high sense of responsibility for the community, they donated 873 blood units.
* Earlier, on June 18, at the Cu M’gar district’s Cultural Center, the Dak Lak provincial Steering Committee of Voluntary Blood Donation launched a blood donation festival to attract over 3,000 people.

The program collected 1,140 blood units, of which 640 blood units were sent to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to ease the blood shortage in southern region.
The Red Journey campaign in the province is expected to be organized in Ea Kar district on June 20 and Buon Ho district on June 21.
* In response to the Red Journey 2019 campaign, thousands of local people in Lai Chau province participated in a blood donation drive and donated 1,178 blood units.
