The awards is named after martyr Nguyen Van Troi, who is the Hero of the People’s Armed Force. It was first launched in 2008 by the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Youth Union Committee in order to create an exciting emulation atmosphere among young workers and laborers.

After thirteen times being held, Nguyen Van Troi Awards has honored 378 outstanding workers and laborers, who completed their tasks successfully and acted for the community.

The organizing panel has selected 44 individuals for this year’s awards.

Previously, winners of the 13th Nguyen Van Troi Awards offered incense and flowers to President Ho chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang at Ho Chi Minh City’s chapter of Ho Chi Minh Museum, and had an exchange with revolutionary elderly and former leaders of the municipal Youth Union committees.
