More donations sent to pandemic-hit areas
PANO - Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, on May 26, the General Department of Market Surveillance under the Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to provide medical supplies for Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to support them in the fight against COVID-19.
Particularly, the department delivered 1,000 sets of protective clothing to the anti-COVID-19 forces in Bac Ninh province.
On May 24, the department presented 1,000 sets of protective clothing to the Bac Giang provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

The department’s Director Tran Huu Linh hoped that the support will partly relieve adversity for the two provinces in containing the pandemic.
* The same day, Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee received VND 1 billion and 300 raincoats from the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) and Rang Dong Plastic Joint-Stock Company.
The committee’s Vice Chairman Phan Kieu Thanh Huong thanked the two donors for their support in the COVID-19 combat, and confirmed that the committee will soon hand over the donations to relevant agencies in the city.
Also, she noted that the committee will launch the second campaign on May 27 to call for more donations to buy COVID-19 vaccines, adding that up to now, enterprises, groups, and individuals have registered to give donations worth over VND 2 trillion.
