On this occasion, the provincial Border Guard Command, local authorities, and sponsors presented 700 gifts to policy beneficiary families in three particularly difficult border communes of Ma Thi Ho, Na Sang, and Muong Muon in Muong Cha district.

Additionally, the provincial Border Guard Command organized activities such as cultural exchanges, “banh chung” (traditional square sticky rice cakes) making contest, traditional folk games, free health check-ups and medicines. Following the guidance of the provincial Border Guard Command, border guard posts also pro-actively organized similar programs and plan to distribute nearly 2,600 gifts and over 4,000 square sticky rice cakes to people in the border areas.

* The same day, the Ho Chi Minh City’s Chapter of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, in collaboration with relevant units, organized the “Happy Tet” program, a gathering for ethnic minority people facing difficulties during the Tet Festival 2024. There are over 1,000 ethnic minority households facing hardships and in need of support in Ho Chi Minh City. The “Happy Tet” program contributes to fostering unity, expressing the community’s sentiment and responsibility to ensure a cozy and joyful Tet celebration for ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances. During the program, Ho Chi Minh City’s Chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, presented 300 Tet gifts (worth VND 1 million each) to individuals facing difficulties.

* From January 19 to 20, in the border commune of Ia Nan (Duc Co, Gia Lai), the Defense Trade Union Board, Army Corps 15, and various units and enterprises collaborated to organize the “Reunion Tet - Sharing Spring” program. The program featured meaningful activities, including a “banh chung” (traditional square sticky rice cakes) making competition, cultural and artistic exchanges, a zero-VND fair, and a gift-giving to needy workers and residents in the area. During the program, the organizers presented 15,000 gifts, worth a total of over VND 10 billion, to local residents and laborers in difficulties of Corps 15.
