Addressing the event, MMC's Deputy Director Major General Hoang Van Luong expressed his deep gratitude to all human body donors and their relatives, and stressed the significance of human body donation to medical development. He said this was a chance to honor "no name” teachers – human body donors, and to promote the “When drinking water, remember who dug the well” tradition of the Vietnamese people among doctors, medical workers and students of the school.

Over the past five years, 48 patients have agreed to donate their bodies when they are dead, for medical purpose, to the MMC's Surgery Department. In 2015 only, the department received 32 offers from volunteers.
