New premises of Lycée Français Alexandre Yersin in Hanoi |
The LFAY high school had been located in Ba Dinh district of Hanoi for many years. As the number of students increased year by year, the school had decided to build new and larger premises with the aim of providing its students and staff with high-quality working conditions on a par with other education institutions within the network run by the AEFE, the Overseas French Education Agency.
The project to build a new school in Long Bien district, Hanoi was started in 2016, and completed in the first half of 2018.
The new LFAY High School is located a few streets away from the famous Long Bien Bridge, and covers an area of 2.8 ha. While the school has some features of the French architecture, its overall picture represents a mixture of the French and Vietnamese cultures.

Students happily welcome a new school year |
The complex is composed of 4 separate sections: Physical education facilities, which represent a third of the whole school’s area with physical training courses, gymnasiums, swimming pools and so on; Primary education for kindergarten and primary-level students; Secondary education for secondary and high-school students; and Common facilities including the auditoriums, multimedia library, information technology center and cafeteria. All the four sections are interconnected by spacious corridors modeled after Hanoi’s streets, which allows people enjoy nice spaces when walking from one place to another.
The school is also surrounded by green gardens and playgrounds, which offers the best learning environment to the students and teachers. What is more, while the school’s facilities, devices and equipment for education and training are modern, meeting the international standards, its curricula for all grades are designed in line with the French National curriculum.
According to education experts, the LFAY is ideal for children at all grades, from kindergarten to high school.
