Local Students Learn Tech Skills at U.S. Embassy Robotics Camp
PANO - Forty six Vietnamese students learned to build and program robots and studied 3D printing techniques at the U.S. Embassy 2018 Robotics Camp from July 16 to 20.
The U.S. Embassy’s American Center and the GreenAms Robotics Team organized the camp where participants also learned about how robotics can advance economic development.
During the camp, students, aged 10 to 14, built and programmed robots using Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotics kits. At the end of the camp, the students demonstrated new skills by competing to accomplish a series of obstacle challenges with their robots.

“The American Center organized this summer camp to inspire Vietnamese teens to study science and technology and spur innovation. By fostering an innovative learning environment that connects and excites students to discover, the American Center hopes to nurture talent and a positive attitude in STEM fields in the long term to help Vietnam’s economic development,” said Fenghua Wang, Regional Public Engagement Officer at the U.S. Embassy Hanoi.
The U.S. Embassy Robotics Camp 2018 is one of many free programs the American Center offers for local residents to learn skills in English, soft skills, entrepreneurship, and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
