The small-scale project, proposed by local KOICA volunteer Kim Sang Bong, has donated US$ 50,000 to the local authorities. Under the project, 1 km of a local agricultural road has been concreted and widened up to 3m. In addition, 500 meters of an irrigation canal has been upgraded and a new water pump serving about 70ha of agricultural land has been installed. The Vinh Thinh Commune People’s Committee also received a set of computers in order to improve its administration. This meaningful activity has been completed to improve the current living and traveling conditions of 125 households in the Dong Lu village, located 6km from the commune center, and an area, which is usually flooded during the rainy season.
Volunteer Kim Sang Bong is dispatched by KOICA to the Vinh Thinh commune’s People’s Committee to render voluntary services for two years within the framework of the KOICA World Friend Korea program.
